Karine uses both the Alphabetical music notation - C, D, E, F, G, A , B, and "Solfeggio" or Latin - Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La,Si. The traditional piano repertoire and technique with emphasis on tone production by relaxed weight, systematic technical development through scales, arpeggios and as well as the study of chord progressions in all keys . A strong foundation of music theory and sight reading are incorporated in the lessons. The ability to read music is developed by effectively integrating three skills: 1) discreet note recognition, 2) intervallic reading, and 3) a multi-key understanding. These are carefully sequenced and reinforced to ensure success. Karine teaches a free and balanced drop of the arm and hand into the finger which improves the technique.
